NSG News, Ghana’s authoritative patriotic channel reporting from Mepe the devastation caused to communities downstream of Volta River Authority’s hydro plant. Bator, Mepe and surrounding towns and villages are directly impacted by the spillage.
The emergency spillway exercise by Volta River Authority (VRA) has exacerbate towns and villages downstream of Akosombo dam; Ghana’s long standing power generation plant.
Notably, houses in Mepe and Bator are completely submerged in the flood and livelihood is at stake.
According to some residents of Mepe, the district chief executive Osborn K Divine Fenu and member of parliament Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa are yet to be sighted in the community.
