Award-winning dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has cautioned young people especially those in disadvantaged communities to stay away from illegal activities and instead pursue legitimate means of earning a living.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, the musician stressed the importance of transparency and lawful success, urging those who make money legally to openly guide others along the same path. He warned that engaging in criminal activities could have devastating consequences, particularly for vulnerable youth.

“If you make money legally like Shatta Wale, don’t be afraid to show others the way. But if it’s illegal, be careful. Ghetto youth, if you play, they will wipe you out,” he wrote.

The message comes amid intense public speculation on social media linking the artiste to alleged fraud-related investigations, following recent arrests involving individuals such as Kofi Boat by the FBI and Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over alleged online fraud and romance scams.

Shatta Wale has strongly denied any involvement in fraudulent activities, insisting that his wealth is solely derived from his music career and business ventures. He has repeatedly stated that he earns his income through hard work and creativity, not illegal schemes.

The artiste has also expressed frustration over what he describes as deliberate attempts to damage his reputation, suggesting that such narratives are fueled by jealousy and misinformation.

Recently, Shatta Wale was granted bail in the sum of GH₵10 million with two sureties after being questioned by EOCO in relation to a yellow Lamborghini Urus. According to his management, the investigation centers on tax-related issues concerning the luxury vehicle and the operations of his company, not fraud.

Despite the controversy, the musician maintains his innocence and continues to position himself as an example of legal success for young people navigating economic hardship.
