The Ministry of Education will also present a 66-seater bus to the team.

UDS defeated defending champions Paulista University of Brazil 2–1 in the final to claim Ghana’s first-ever world university football title.

At a ceremony at the Jubilee House, President Mahama commended the players, coaches, and university leadership for bringing glory to Ghana, describing their victory as a testament to the potential of Ghanaian youth.

“You carried Ghana’s flag with dignity, discipline, and passion. This victory shows that with teamwork and perseverance, success is possible,” he said.

UDS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Seidu Al-Hassan, thanked the President and revealed that the team’s rigorous training and determination led to their triumph. He added that UDS plans to defend the title with both men’s and women’s teams in future tournaments.
