Police Bust Nationwide Car Rental Fraudster Nana Anderson; Accomplice on the Run

he Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old man, Nana Anderson also known by several aliases in connection with a nationwide vehicle rental fraud syndicate.

Anderson was apprehended on April 5, 2025, in Atasemanso, Kumasi, following investigations into multiple car thefts across the country. He allegedly used forged ECOWAS IDs and driver’s licenses to rent vehicles under false identities, including a Hyundai Elantra on March 25 in Accra, which he failed to return. He also disabled the car’s tracker.

Further investigations revealed Anderson’s involvement in similar thefts of vehicles such as a Kia Forte, a Honda Civic, and another Kia between January and March 2025. He reportedly earned GH₵4,000 per stolen vehicle.

He confessed during interrogation and directed police to a suspected accomplice’s residence in Millennium City. The accomplice, Gideon Baah, is still at large. Anderson has been arraigned, and police continue their search for Baah while urging car rental businesses to remain vigilant.
