NSB Expands Operations with Modern Command Centre in Koforidua
The Minister for the Interior and National Security, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has inaugurated the Eastern Regional Command of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) in Koforidua to enhance Ghana’s security operations and strengthen intelligence coordination nationwide.
The new command centre, fitted with advanced surveillance and digital intelligence systems, is expected to improve real-time monitoring, crime prevention, and data-sharing among security agencies.
Speaking at the commissioning, Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak said the facility marks a major step in the government’s commitment to modernising Ghana’s security architecture.
“This centre empowers our agencies to detect, prevent, and respond swiftly to criminal activities, including fraud, cybercrime, kidnapping, and armed robbery,” he noted. “It also supports the broader 24-hour economy policy by ensuring safer communities across the country.”
Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, described the initiative as timely, citing the region’s struggles with illegal mining and other criminal activities. She pledged her office’s full support to the NSB in maintaining peace and security.
The National Security Coordinator, COP Abdul-Osman Razak, also commended the Bureau’s personnel and urged them to uphold professionalism, stressing that national security depends on collaboration and vigilance from all Ghanaians.
The facility forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to decentralise and upgrade the country’s security and intelligence infrastructure.
