The National Identification Authority (NIA) is set to begin issuing Ghana Cards to children between the ages of 6 and 14 starting Monday, October 6, 2025.

This first phase of the exercise will take place across 56 selected districts and will focus on children who have already completed the registration process. Distribution will occur at the same schools where the registrations were conducted.

The NIA emphasized that each child must be present in person and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when collecting the card. Parents or guardians are also required to present the original registration receipt (Form A) issued during the initial registration.

According to the Authority, all pending card backlogs have been cleared, ensuring a smooth start to the exercise. The remaining districts are expected to follow in the coming days, with new registration dates to be announced soon for other eligible children within the age group.

The NIA called on parents and guardians to cooperate with its officials to guarantee a successful and efficient card distribution nationwide.
