Ghana’s inflation falls to 6.3% in November, 11th monthly drop — GSS
Ghana’s inflation rate has continued its steady downward trend, falling for the 11th straight month to 6.3% in November 2025, down from 8.0% in October. This is according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) update released by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
Presenting the data in Accra, Government Statistician Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu attributed the continued decline to notable reductions in both food and non-food inflation. Month-on-month, prices increased by only 0.9%, reflecting a more stable price environment.
Food and non-food inflation fall sharply
Food inflation dropped significantly to 6.6%, down from 9.5% the previous month. Non-food inflation also eased to 6.1%, compared to 6.9% in October. Inflation within the services sector followed the same path, settling at 3.8%, down from 4.6%.
Regional variations
The latest CPI data shows wide disparities across the regions:
- North East recorded the highest inflation rate at 12.3%.
- Savannah Region posted the lowest rate, marginally negative at -0.02%.
Local goods show improvement
Inflation for locally produced items fell from 8.0% in October to 6.8% in November, while the rate for goods in general dropped to 7.3%, down from 9.3%.
Businesses urged to take advantage
The GSS encouraged businesses to leverage the lower inflation environment by improving operational efficiency, strengthening local supply chains, reducing wastage, and passing on cost reliefs to consumers wherever possible.
