The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a week-long Conference of Heads of Mission, coupled with an orientation programme for newly appointed envoys, as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic machinery.

The event, slated for Monday, September 1 to Friday, September 5, 2025, will be held under the theme “Harnessing the Dividends of Diplomacy for Ghana’s Reset Agenda.” President John Dramani Mahama is expected to formally open the conference and launch new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to guide the work of Ghana’s ambassadors and high commissioners.

A statement from the Ministry said the gathering will provide comprehensive briefings on areas of national priority, ensuring that envoys are well-prepared to advance Ghana’s foreign policy objectives. The ultimate aim, according to officials, is to leverage diplomacy as a tool to improve the well-being of citizens.

The conference will also feature knowledge-sharing sessions, with experts from across government and key institutions engaging the diplomats on issues relevant to their assignments abroad.

The Ministry stressed that the initiative reaffirms its commitment to delivering quality public service while positioning diplomacy as a central pillar of Ghana’s national development and international cooperation.
