Ghana – Presidential Envoy Urges Churches to Strengthen Spiritual Partnership for National Healing
The Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations has called on church leaders across Ghana to intensify spiritual support and coordination in guiding the nation during these challenging times.
In a letter dated August 10, 2025, addressed to all ecumenical heads, Presidential Envoy Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering prayers, intercessions, and moral leadership provided by Christian denominations in promoting peace, unity, and integrity in Ghana.
The letter urges all prophets, men, and women of God to formally report any prophecy or spiritual insight of national importance especially those with potential implications for political leadership, governance, national security, or public stability directly to the Office of the Presidential Envoy for urgent review. This, the Envoy noted, is part of a broader effort to strengthen national coordination on spiritual matters in a time of uncertainty and complexity.
The appeal also comes in the wake of a recent tragic accident that claimed the lives of government officials, military personnel, and National Democratic Congress (NDC) party executives. The Presidential Envoy is calling for intense prayers for President Mahama, the Government and State institutions, as well as bereaved families and the entire nation.
“We look forward to continued partnership and shared spiritual responsibility as we work together for the peace and prosperity of Ghana,” the statement concluded.
