Ghana; Ideal Business Hub in Africa- Deputy finance minister to Italian delegation
Dr. Stephen Amoah, Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Nhyiayeso Constituency, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with development partners to bolster the nation’s economy. Speaking during a meeting with an Italian delegation led by Ambassador Daniela d’Orlandi, discussions centered on Italian Development Cooperation Projects in Ghana.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic’s challenges across Africa, Amoah highlighted Ghana’s resilience, positioning it as an attractive destination for business with thriving sectors. He emphasized the availability of land and resources for the manufacturing sector, underscoring the importance of collaboration to strengthen Ghana’s manufacturing base.
Acknowledging Italy’s past support in energy, agriculture, SMEs, and education, Amoah called for further assistance in energy, health, and education sectors. The Italian delegation, through projects aligned with their thematic guidelines, expressed readiness to finance developmental initiatives in Ghana.
In response, Ambassador Daniela d’Orlandi affirmed Italy’s willingness to explore avenues for comprehensive support to address Ghana’s developmental challenges.
