COCOBOD Dismisses False Reports on Cocoa Price Decision

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has issued a statement urging the public, especially cocoa farmers, to disregard circulating news suggesting a new producer price has been set for cocoa.
In its April 9 release, COCOBOD clarified that no such decision has been made, stressing that the current absence of a Board of Directors makes it impossible to approve any changes to cocoa prices. Additionally, the required Producer Price Review Committee, responsible for evaluating and recommending new prices, has not yet been formed.
COCOBOD emphasized that any announcement made without the proper structures in place is not legitimate. It advised media outlets and the general public to wait for official communication through the appropriate channels and refrain from spreading unverified claims.
