Central Region: Fuel tanker explodes at Potsin Junction
A fuel tanker has overturned and exploded at Potsin Junction along the Kasoa–Winneba Highway in Ghana’s Central Region, setting a nearby house ablaze.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, March 17, 2026, when the tanker reportedly fell on its side, causing fuel to spill and ignite.
Fire spreads to nearby structures
Eyewitnesses said the flames spread rapidly, engulfing parts of the surrounding area and raising fears among residents about their safety.
The fire is reported to have extended to at least one nearby house, though the full extent of the damage is yet to be confirmed.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service have since moved to the scene and secured nearby buildings while working to contain the blaze.
