Ayariga Condemns Bawku Violence, Calls for Calm After Attack on Home

Bawku Central MP and Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has condemned recent violent clashes in Bawku that resulted in fatalities and an attack on his home. In a statement issued while on assignment abroad, he expressed concern over the unrest, attributing it to frustrations over unresolved chieftaincy issues and alleged police misconduct.
Ayariga urged residents to remain calm and respect ongoing peace efforts, led by the Asantehene and supported by other traditional leaders and the NDC. He reaffirmed his commitment to a peaceful, legal resolution and dismissed what he called politically motivated lies being spread about him. He called for unity and patience as efforts to restore peace continue.
