USA and Nigeria lead ECOWAS to invade Niger? Any attempt by Nigeria lead ECOWAS to invade Niger due to military takeover as an intervention measure on behalf of the people and resources of Niger, is an illegal war. Those instigating this war and if it does happen should be charged as war criminals.

Why is the military intervention in countries like Niger, Guinea and Burkina-Faso said to be a coup d’état instead of military takeover an intervention measure under the circumstance they found themselves under civilian government?

It is an intervention measure by the military because the people of Niger and likewise Guinea and Burkina-Faso took to the streets with jubilation in endorsement of the decision by the military to takeover.

ECOWAS’s fundamental charge is to foster peace and defend the people of the ECOWAS community – If the military leadership in these countries are committing crime against the human rights of their people eg, genocide etc, then any attempt by USA lead ECOWAS could be seen as an intervention under provisions of human right.

It is said in the media, “a USA  lead ECOWAS” to invade Niger – So ECOWAS is attempting to engage in a proxy war against her own people and this amounts to a war crime. The word an “invasion” alone is enough to define the USA lead ECOWAS into Niger a crime.

Any attempt to return rulership in Niger to civilian governance should be diplomatic – Engage in a dialogue to understand the grievances of the military and the people of Niger
