The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has disclosed extensive financial recoveries and one of its most significant asset seizures to date, including luxury vehicles, fuel stations, and prime real estate across Accra and other parts of the country, as part of its anti-corruption work in the latter half of 2025.

Details contained in the OSP’s Half-Yearly Report for July to December 2025 show that the office recovered millions of cedis and dollars for the state while placing dozens of high-value assets under state management, pending the outcome of criminal trials and forfeiture proceedings.

Millions Recovered for the State

According to the report, the OSP recovered US$2 million for the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF). In a separate investigation involving the alleged diversion of petroleum products, the office also recovered GH¢8.52 million.

These recoveries, the OSP said, form part of its mandate to retrieve proceeds of corruption and economic crime for the benefit of the state.

Fuel Stations, Cash, and Land Seized

A substantial portion of the seizures relates to CR/0603/2025 The Republic v. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid & Nine Others, currently pending before the High Court (Criminal Division) in Accra.

Assets seized and now being managed by the OSP in that case include GH¢951,995.56 in cash, as well as four fuel stations located at Opeikuma, Dansoman, Abeka Lapaz, and Millennium City near Kasoa.

The office also took control of multiple parcels of land, including property in Tamale valued at GH¢9.93 million, land at Haatso valued at GH¢2.74 million, and land at Danyame in Kumasi valued at GH¢4.77 million. A separate parcel at Adenta is yet to be valued.

Prime Accra Real Estate Under OSP Control

The report further details an extensive portfolio of high-end real estate seized in Accra, with combined values running into tens of millions of cedis.

Among the most prominent properties are a two-storey residential building at East Legon valued at GH¢12.71 million and another two-storey building at Adjiringanor valued at GH¢10 million.

Several luxury apartments were also seized in upscale developments including The Bantree, The Signature, The Lennox, The Address, Beyond, and The Monarch, with individual units valued between GH¢1.4 million and GH¢3.56 million. Some of the seized apartments are completed, while others remain under construction.

In addition, the OSP seized six-unit residential blocks at Agbogba valued at GH¢10 million and 23 fuel tanker trucks, further expanding the scale of assets under its management.

Luxury Vehicles Worth GH¢18.6 Million

In a separate investigation involving the Minerals Income Investment Fund, the OSP seized a fleet of high-end vehicles valued at GH¢18.6 million.

The vehicles include a Rolls-Royce Mansory Phantom, a Mercedes-Benz Brabus 800, a Mercedes-Benz Maybach S680, a Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, additional Land Cruiser units, a Lexus LX600, and two Fiat bullion vans.

A Signal of Enforcement Muscle

The OSP notes that all seized assets remain subject to the outcome of ongoing trials and forfeiture proceedings. However, the scale of the recoveries and seizures represents one of the clearest demonstrations yet of the office’s asset-tracing and recovery powers.

With luxury cars, fuel infrastructure, and prime urban real estate now under state control, the report underscores the magnitude of suspected illicit wealth targeted by Ghana’s anti-corruption framework running into hundreds of millions of cedis when fully aggregated.
