President John Dramani Mahama has strongly denied allegations that he owns the Chain Homes residential estate, describing the claims as false and deliberately misleading.

Speaking during an interaction with residents of the estate on Monday, December 22, 2025, the President clarified that his association with the area is purely residential and not based on ownership or investment interests.

He explained that he and his family only moved into the neighbourhood after facing difficulties securing a suitable house to rent elsewhere. According to him, the property they currently occupy is privately owned and was made available for rent through Chain Homes, which is how they came to live in the estate.

President Mahama stressed that his decision to reside there was simply a matter of finding accommodation and should not be misconstrued as evidence of ownership.

Responding to persistent rumours suggesting he owns the estate, he dismissed the claims with humour, noting that if he were truly the owner, residents would technically have acquired their homes unlawfully. He jokingly suggested that those who paid money to the developers should demand refunds and hand the funds over to him, reinforcing his point that he has no stake in Chain Homes.

The President urged the public to disregard the speculation and focus on facts, emphasising that the rumours have no basis in reality.
