Ghana and Saudi Arabia are poised to elevate their bilateral relationship following what officials described as an “extremely positive and uplifting” meeting between Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dhakel.

The high-level discussions, held in Accra, centered on strengthening cooperation and advancing shared interests across key sectors, including trade, investment, and development. Mr. Ablakwa described the meeting as highly productive, assuring Ghanaians that ongoing negotiations would deliver meaningful outcomes for the nation.

“We shall keep negotiating forcefully in the best interest of all Ghanaians,” the Minister said, emphasizing the government’s determination to secure deals that promote national development and economic growth.

A major announcement is expected later this month when the Saudi Foreign Minister pays an official visit to Ghana a visit anticipated to mark a new chapter in the long-standing relationship between the two nations.

Mr. Ablakwa expressed optimism about the direction of talks, saying, “Cheers to our stronger Ghana–Saudi Arabia partnership,” as both countries prepare to unveil new initiatives aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic cooperation.
