Onsy Nkrumah Calls on Ghana to Champion Peace: Remembering Golda Meir and the Two-State Solution
Listen to Golda Mier (or Ma’ier in Hebrew, Arabic and Aramaic languages, aka the Abrahamic languages).
Mrs Golda Mier was the first and so far the only Israeli woman prime minister. She was PM from 1969 to 1974.
She clearly said in this clip that she was a Palestinian citizen who carried a Palestinian passport for many years. She seemed proud enough to declare that she was a Palestinian citizen who carried a Palestinian passport.
But now Israeli PM Netanyahu does not even want to consider the 2 state solution of Israel and Palestine co-existing side by side in peace! How things change in politics in our ever changing world!!
Historically there were always Palestinian Jews, Palestinian Muslims and Palestinian Christians living peacefully together in Palestine when Palestine was colonised by the Turkish Ottoman Empire then by the British Empire after the first world war until May1948.
As Ghana has always had unique friendly relations with both Israel and Palestine since our independence in 1957 and up to date. Ghana is in fact one of the very few countries in the world that has full diplomatic relations and full embassies with both countries. So it should be our duty and moral responsibility to contribute our quota to help in solving this historical entractable bloody dispute by calling on Israel to stop their genocidal daily killing of Palestinians and to accept the concept of a peaceful 2 state solution with the Palestinians which all countries of the world are urgently calling for with the exception of USA.
Would President Mahama take the opportunity of the forthcoming UN General Assembly later this month in New York to speak up for Ghana and to make our voice heard in the world media in condemning Israel’s genocide and war crimes and in calling on Israel to cease all hostilities immediately and to accept to sit down to work on a peaceful equitable agreement with the Palestinian Authority and the UN Security Council for the sake of achieving lasting and just peace for the mutual benefit of both Israeli and Palestinian peoples who lived previously together in peace for many generations and can do so again with the right mindset of their respective leaders.
I highly recommend our president and call on him to please speak up for Ghana along those lines in Accra and New York and at any available future opportunity, as Ghana has always punched above her weight in the international political arena since Osagyefo’s glorious days in power. So we are No strangers in playing a vital role in seeking to achieve peace and prosperity and better world for the whole human race to enjoy the dividends of living in peace and by collectively developing together a much better and fairer world for every human being to enjoy.
So help us God.
