NDC’s Galamsey Struggle is ‘Laughable’ – Bawumia Campaign Director
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director for the 2024 Bawumia campaign, has mocked the NDC government’s struggle to combat illegal mining (galamsey), saying he is “tempted to laugh” at their efforts.
He accused the NDC of dismissing the NPP’s warnings while in opposition and now failing to address the crisis. According to Aboagye, the NDC, including former President Mahama, had promised to ease restrictions on galamsey for job creation during the 2024 campaign.
“They told galamseyers, ‘When I come to office, I’ll release you’—now they’re realizing it’s not that simple,” he claimed.
Aboagye stressed that galamsey will persist unless depoliticized, urging the government to take decisive action.
