GRA Directs Telcos to Refund E-Levy Deductions After Repeal
Following the repeal of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has ordered telecommunications companies and other entities to refund any deductions made on April 2, 2025.
The decision follows President John Mahama’s approval of the Electronic Transfer Levy (Amendment) Act, 2022 (Act 1089), which officially removes the 1% levy on electronic transactions.
In a directive issued after the repeal, the GRA instructed all relevant service providers to adjust their systems to reflect the new policy, ensuring no further deductions occur.
