My Christmas Eve began about 9 p.m. Madame Sekou Toure invited me to a little party in the palace. There were about 100 people, Most of them were her friends.

There was a band which played Ghanaian highlife songs for me. I did not dance. Madame Sekou Toure wanted me to but I politely refused. I left the party at 11 p.m. and went straight to my little room and locked myself up, alone with myself and my thoughts. I meditated for quite some time, reflecting on the past.

And there was a lot to reflect upon. And I was happy. At about 2 a.m. I went to sleep. But I was woken up about 5 a.m. by the singing of Christmas carols by my boys.

I remained quietly in my bed and listened to them. When I got up I gave them one huge cow which they killed and enjoyed all day, making merry and singing funny songs to make me happy. At about 10.30 a.m.

I got set and went straight to my office to attend to pending issues of the day.”.

On this note, I wish you all Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year on behalf of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah who remains alive with us – Onsy Nkrumah.

THE PAST REMAINS

The past remains to be with us, and we shall continue to be part of the future. Seen here, in this photograph, is Kwame Nkrumah signing Ghana-Guinea Union, a nucleus for a UNION OF AFRICAN STATES, into effect on 23rd November 1958 in Accra. Please, share the spirit of this act of historic conviction with me at this hour of the season for the task ahead
